Hair Envy: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley
Posted on
From the moment Rosie stepped onto the catwalk in 2004, she cemented herself as one of the world’s hair-oines. A quick Google image search will show you that she’s never had a bad hair day or puts a foot wrong with her style (seriously, Google her). From bedhead texture and romantic curls to super sleek locks, Rosie’s barnet can do no wrong.
Rosie was one of the first celebrities to join the ‘Lob’ brigade earlier this year and with it adopted a rough and ready bed head texture that we’ve been desperate to recreate ever since. So what should you ask for next time your visit the salon?
The magic is in the cut - Rosie opted for collarbone skimming length with ‘invisible’ layers. Layering was originally introduced as a technique to remove weight and keep length and here her layers give the style a lightweight appearance whilst adding choppy texture.
When it comes to styling, straighteners are your new best friend. An odd choice for adding waves you might think, but flat irons are great for adding body and a loose wave without the corkscrew effect of a traditional curling iron. Simply take a section of hair and clamp gently between both irons and depending on the direction you want your curl to fall, twist the straightener either towards or away from your face and pull down. For a tighter wave, twist again as you get halfway through the section. For a more undone effect, finger comb through your hair to break up the waves to give it that lived in feel.
